Hey guys

Has anyone ever had a payment pending from fatplay.net sitting on their Credit card? I only use Steam thats is connected to my VISA and Apple a/c

I just checked my VISA to see a 14 Nov 2013 fatplay.net $42.80 Pending

Any ideas guys

Guessing your details have been stolen/card has been cloned as they've got nothing to do with Steam or Apple. Give your bank a call and get the card cancelled asap.

Have you been to the website to see what it is?

Are you sure you haven't purchased anything online? Sometimes online retailers have different merchant names to their store fronts.

It looks like a video / game site and it looks legit but can't find anything about how they may have gotten my visa payment. I've sent an ASB transaction dispute form in so will see what happens.

I wouldn't just dispute the charge, I'd cancel the card...

The fatplay.net outcome.
They have promised to refund - so will see what happens in the next few days Thanks for all your advice guys.:cool::)

The long story to help others in a similar situation I googled them and located their website . Several similar complaints - confusuin on the net.
No real bad criminal I could see on ripoffreport.

Something about it seemed less like theft and more like a little more sneaky legit opt-out scheme I'm seeing more of nowadays - just more elaborate.
So on a hunch I didn't cancel my VISA but investigated a bit. They had no info on why the had happened but an option to call them to cancel - a toll call for me.
Or sign in and then cancel. I tried the 2 email accounts I use and chose "have no password. My password was emailed to me and wo and behold it was my standard google password only used for gmail, google, youtube. That was odd.

So I now sent a site-form email to them: Asking who they were and why I was charged for a service/product i didn't ask for.

Their almost instant response: i.e. pre-formed

" What 5 day trial ?- I have not requested or joined a 5day Fatplay or any other trial to my knowledge. I have not typed in or given my visa number or account numbers to authorise a 5 day trial. Please show me proof as to who approved this trial with my VISA and for WHAT service game/media etc. Thanks #####

I would change your passwords for Google while you're at it and anywhere else where you use the same password.

It would appear someone else used your card then. You are required to let your bank know (read your T&C of your credit card). They will cancel it and reissue

Seriously, change your passwords (and enable 2-factor authentication on your gmail account if you have a smartphone) and cancel your credit card. Unless someone you know has used your credit card/password without your permission (spouse/child), the implication is that someone has your password and credit card details which will end very poorly for you.

I had a similar thing from Apple. The card registered against my active Apple account was used elsewhere on Apple's system, they pretty much refunded me without any questions asked and blocked the card (which I confirmed), 2 days later, another charge appeared of the same amount. It may have just been a delayed transaction. Coincidentally, the card expired a couple of days afterwards anyway.

I've started using my debit card to buy things online, just means I have to load money onto it the day before I need to use it, at least it means they can't do anything with it though.
