Are there any recommended gaming/gamer magazines available in NZ, either retail stores or on subscription?
Looking to get one for a Xmas pressie.

Most tech related physical magazines have gone the way of the dodo because the audience is tech savy and read news/reviews/articles etc online.

Personally I'd come up with a better idea for present, why type of gamer are they PC, Mac, Xbox, PS3? Maybe online store credit for xbox live or ps3 network, or steam gift (pc)...

Playstaion Network Cards

There should be a similar thing for Xbox live too.

Pretty sad that they have gone, but its to be expected really. I remember in my teens going down to paper plus to get my monthly PC Gamer mag, then an australian pc mag came out that had local content and was cheaper so i jumped ship to that.. They were really good reads, the internet was in its infancy then so it was really the only way to keep up with the play. I kept them all for ages too, in the bin they went around 19 when i couldn't be bothered moving them to a new flat.

Anyways on topic, the vouchers seem like an ideal present, or even a mightyape one wouldnt be a bad idea, they have really good gaming sales all the time.

I'd subscribe to more local content if it were digital, ie: Zinio and the like. Must be cheaper to produce also surely?
