I'm very much a part-time gamer and currently having a crack at Battlefield 4 on PC, since it came free with some hardware (well after a 24GB download, but I guess that sort of size is becoming the norm for current games, I'm pleased I'm on UFB).

My question: Is there any way to drop a grenade without detonating it?

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

There's a variety of different types of grenades you unlock as you progress further in the rank system. But essentially you pull the pin as soon as you throw it for every grenade of every type. I don't see what benefit dropping a grenade would give you if not armed anyway.

No, in battlefield there is no way to drop weapons.
The only exception is if you pick up someone else's gun after they have died but that would change your class as well.

I'm assuming you're a Counter Strike player coming to Battlefield for the first time.

I watched a youtube clip where I thought the guy dropped some grenades on some anti-tank mines, then fired a gun at them to detonate the grenades and, in turn, the mines. Watching it again though it's not actually what went on. I guess it can't be done that way though, thanks for your response.

What you probably saw is him dropping C4 then shooting the C4 to destroy the mines.
