Hi Everyone!
Firstly if you saw the other two posts regarding this event (from another member) I do apologise, this will be the final and official post for the event :).
On the 31st of May myself and 9 other high school students will be banding together in an effort to utilise the power of gaming and the internet, in order to help support World Vision's efforts in Malawi for this years 40 hour famine campaign.
What we're doing:
We'll be playing a variety of games (BF4, COD, DayZ, Minecraft and a few others) for 40 hours straight all live on Twitch(.tv). We're going to be using a mixture of PCs (courtesy of PlayTech) and consoles as our platforms. During the livestream we'll be giving away a variety of prizes to both people who donate and for people who simply tune in to the stream. We have a lineup of gaming keyboards, headsets, mice and many more prizes to giveaway (Courtesy of Logitech). Most of the prizes will be given to donors whom in which will receive one entry per $5 NZD donated. With a few spot prizes for viewers. All proceeds from the event will going straight to World Vision (donations, ad revenue and any other revenues we may receive as a result of the event), you can track our progress on our page: http://hungerdrive.org/Donate .
When we're doing it:
The stream will kick-start bright and early on Saturday 31st May at 8am New Zealand time and will go for 40 hours from then (finishing midnight Sunday night/Monday morning).
Who's helping us:
We have World Vision fully endorsing our project to such an extend we've got their offices booked out as the venue for our livestream. This not only provides enough space for 10 people but also gives us surplus amounts of furniture, power points and best of all a fibre optic internet connection to ensure a high quality, stable stream.
PlayTech not only got us in contact with Logitech but are also lending us 5 high end gaming PC setups and several Elgato game capture devices to ensure a worthwhile stream.
Logitech have given us 5 prize packs including a gaming: keyboard, mouse, headset and mouse pad to use during the stream and then to giveaway to our supporters.
How you can help:
We're still looking for sponsors for the event, whether it be monetary, gadgets to giveaway to supporters or simply helping spread the word using your reach. If you would like to lend us a hand please feel free to flick me an email; aidan [at] hungerdrive.org all emails are welcome!
You're also welcome to donate to our 40 hour famine using the links below or you can simply just tune in during the stream and say hi!
