Hi,

I would like to go on xbox live via my laptop wireless connection. I've read that all i need is a crossover LAN cable and ICS (internet connection sharing) enabled for the wireless connection. I have tried it and it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to pull this off?

I.E.  xbox 360 via ethernet (crossover) to laptop and then via wireless to internet

Cheers

In case I haven't been getting any replies due to lack of info:

Heres my current i.p configuration

Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : enzo
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethern

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-C0-9F-A7-02-E0
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0E-9B-D5-1F-49
Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.1.6
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

And the config on the xbox 360 is a static config set on:

Physical address: 192.168.0.4
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

Now I read that once you turn on ICS it fixes a static on the LAN adapter to 192.168.0.1. All clients would lose connectivity if not on this i.p. range. My d-link is fixed on the 10.1.1.x range. Could this be the reason I am unable to connect? I haven't checked to see if I can change the fixed i.p. on my 604t?

12:17 am 29/08 Ok I have now also changed the fixed i.p. of my wireless router to fall in the ICS i.p. range.  The i.p. for my router is 192.168.0.5.  Still nothing..

Change your router back to it's own 10.1.1.x subnet. ICS is hard-coded to be 192.168.1.x, which is fine.

You should have ICS enabled on the ethernet adapter only. I'm just wondering if you're firewall is blocking traffic on the ethernet adapter? (just a guess)

One option is to disable your firewall entirely on the ethernet adapter to determine what, if any difference that makes.
