Hey guys, anybody here currently playing WoW? I've been on and off player for a few years now but this expansion I want to get more involved. Mate from work plays as well. My only problem is I cant settle on which class to level, I have always mained a hunter but was interested in trying another class but keep changing. So looking for people who have experience in a wider range of classes than I.

Also, what is a high populated NZ/AUS PvP Realm? ( I am more interested in the PvP/Arena side of things.)

Cheers

All Oceanic realms end up as high pop for various reasons so whatever realm you choose there will be people to play with. Frostmourne is the highest pop PvP realm so it might actually be better to avoid it as it can lead to queues to log in a peak times.

As for class? All I can really say is pick one and try levelling it. If you don't like it then try a different one. Death knights are good as they start at level 55. If you don't like melee classes then I like Warlocks, especially Destruction spec.

It really is quite subjective, and you may even find you like all of them. I suggest you dive in and see how you go. If you buy Warlords then you get to boost one character to 90 which is useful. You can buy additional boosts for $US60 each...

Thanks for the reply, I am currently playing on the Frostmourne Realm with all my toons. Talking to a few guys they recommend Barthilas for Horde or Frostmourne for Alliance.

Is DK a wrong choice at the moment being OP and early into the season, would I worry about getting nerf'd sooner than later?

If you worry about getting nerfed you will never play any class.

Death Knight is a fun start - skips all the really early stuff and is easy/fun to level for me so far. Even if you play the first 10 levels or so.

Good survivability and can tank/dps as required.

I played a DK from 55-67 before getting back into my main toon (tauren shaman). Will be going back to it once the shaman is max level.

Can't really go wrong with most of the Oceanic realms, most of the low pops were connected as linked servers so they function as one server. The high pops like Frostmourne had queues the first weeks of launch but alot of hardware was put in to fix that.

The lower ping/latency with them being hosted in Sydney is amazing, compared to playing on US servers.

The standard advice is:

PvP Alliance = Frostmourne
PvP Horde = Barthilas
PvE Alliance = Khaz'goroth or Darth'Remar (either they are linked)
PvE Horde = Caelestrasz or Nagrand (either they are linked)

Refer to: http://www.wowprogress.com/realms/rank/oc

Can't tell you what class to play that's completely subjective.... if you want to see quick video overviews of the classes/specs are like at max level from beta check out these series

Things have changed since beta of course, they change all the time.. classes get buffed, nerfed, tweaked but it will give you an idea.
