Hi Guys

I am after a new graphics card for my gaming PC so I can put the GTX650 that I currently have into my partners gaming PC. The two cards I am looking at are the..

Asus GTX 750 Ti Overclocked 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E3.0 VGA 2xDVI HDMI

and

Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI Overclocked Geforce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E3.0 VGA 2xDVI HDMI

The only real difference is the Gigabyte card is slightly more expensive and supports 4K which I am not that fussed about. What I am interested in is which brand would you pick and why. I don't have much experience with Gigabyte gear only Intel and Asus boards.

I usually buy gigabyte, have not had too many issues and they seem stable.

Last card I got was a windforce 970 which does well, but it seems to need active displayport to HDMI adapters to get all the outputs working. Passive ones I can only get 1 displayport working.

I would at least go for a 760, or get the newer 960.

I have that Asus card, and it does 4k 60hz over HDMI no problems

I guess the only problem I have with the GTX 960 is that it is expensive, but I'm not sure a 750 Ti is a worthwhile upgrade, only for the compatibility factor of a Maxwell GPU

I would recommend a maxwell GPU as it's likely to fully support DX12 etc.

I would like to get a 960 but the budget isn't big enough for that at this stage. I still need to upgrade the partners i3 to something a bit better.

get a 960 from the US, it's only about 20 nzd more than the 750 Ti. ( excluding shipping)

Of the GTX960 that Amazon stock which brands offer the best warranty service support for NZ purchasers?

I want the feature whereby the cooling fans switch off at low load/temperature (e.g ASUS STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-2GD5 or EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0+ or MSI Gaming or Gigabyte G1).

I attempted to clarify the warranty situation with ASUS NZ but found it impossible to email or call them through their contact pages. So I probably won't buy ASUS even from a local supplier...

EDIT: Had another look and local supplier prices of some models have dropped to reasonable levels so will buy locally instead.
