Found out today LoL RP cards bought here can no longer be used on the US servers.  Needless to say Im a little pissed off.  They have worked fine previously but now a message comes up stating cards bought in the OCE will not work outside of that region. Would have been nice for them to state this on the card or something prior to me wasting another $25. Ive put in a support ticket but Im expecting I'll either never get a response or they'll just say tough luck.  Maybe I can guilt them into moving me to the OCE servers for free..

I really dont get why they cant be used.  We actually get less RP for the $25 than anyone else anyway so it all balances out.

Guess I wont be buying DJ Sona..

I'm pretty sure there was an announcement about this a year or so ago

Never saw any announcement.. Never had any issues till this last card and been buying and using them since they first came out over here.  Last topup was about 6 weeks ago.  Already contacted the support team and they have said they have recently changed it and that the cards are definitely region locked now.  They are doing a one time load of my existing card into my account though.

I'm going to play devils advocate and say if you bought an RP card in the OCE region, why would you expect to be able to use this in NA? This is standard across nearly every game with different regions.

The RP card page states "You can purchase prepaid RP cards from any of the authorized retailers listed below. These cards will be redeemable on the Oceania League of Legends server.

Crap situation and I feel for you. Hopefully support can lend you a hand.

Yes I agree to a degree except they were selling the cards here before the OCE servers came out. The cards do mention only being available for the OCE server on the terms and conditions on the back but its in very fine print and half way down thru the terms.  Really it should be pretty bold somewhere I would have thought.  Im more just informing anyone else before they go thru the same process.

And yes support have agreed to sort it..  They were pretty good really.  I guess it'll take a few days, already gone and bought some RP via paypal so I could get my DJ Sona skin so its all good. Worse case scenario I'll give the card to some friends..

there are some versions of the cards that are the older type that's some stores have still been selling for the past 6 or 7 months but around that time they brought out new cards which are only redeemable on our servers. it's possible that the cards you've been buying up until now were of the older type.
