Im wanting to give witcher 3 a bash when it comes out later this year after the brilliance if the first 2.
The reccomended graphics card is:
Video Card: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770 / AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
Currently i have a gtx 560, so obviously need something with a bit more balls. Currently im considering either a gtx 960 or 970 (whilst trying to spend as little as possible.......fear of the wife).

Asides from computer lounge does anyone have any reccommendations for a good retailer online? Or make any additional suggestions to the above cards! Thanks in advance

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. My budget is as low as humanly possible :-)
Kinda aiming for $400 ish, anything more and i have to start hiding the credit card statement lol.
I already get grief from the wife with my "collectable" purchases.

Thanks, completely overlooked that one whilst looking through their site.
might have to sweet talk my wife to see if she will let me stretch that far.

It's a wee bit more than your budget, but its a sharp price for a 290X, and it will cream pretty much any game at 1920x1080 (1080p) , and be pretty damn respectable at 2560x1440 (1440p)

I would go for the GTX 970 its cooler and a lot less power hungry than the 290x. I picked my Galax GTX 970 Black Edition for $520 from the guy at just laptops in Mt Wellington he always does great deals give him a ring.

I second calling the just laptops guy, he's pretty friendly and gives great discounts if you do contact him directly

Thankfully i didnt buy a card yet, as witcher 3 is being given away with 960,970 and 980 nvidia cards from official retailers.
Which means for $600 delivered via amazon i get a 970 and a free copy of the game as well.
