Since around 6 months after I bought my PS3, my wifi was very very very very slow.
Eg a 1GB demo takes a whole night to download, and recently took a whole day!

So I discovered this hack.

I opened up the thing and moved my wifi hardware from the back of the machine to as far front as it possibly could be put.

Now a 1.3gb download just took 12 minutes.

Oh I also installed a very old 120GB OCZ Vertex II just for fun.

*school holidays must have driven me a bit over the top*

I hope this lasts ...

Before opening the case and voiding your warranty did you try turning the PS3 around 180degrees to see if WiFi improved ?

I found PS3 wifi flakey, so I wired it. I find the PS3 network incredibly slow the last time I tried it, which was a while ago.

It is still really slow on PS3 (especially the store), it is a lot faster on PS4 and Vita

11g (ps3) vs 11n (ps4) can answer that if youve got 11n AP.

Store has always been sluggish IIRC.

They dont have an online web based store do they ?

Yeah they have a store. I used it to get the PS plus games last month when my consoles were unplugged as I was moving stuff around.
