They've added a "Shark Card" ($1.25 million in game) to justify the price rise and left the original game at $91, it's a bit dodgy but probably legal. The other problem is that if you use the shark card you'd probably no longer be able to get a refund as it permanently alters the game.

It's completely legal, not arguing that.  Just really stupid doubt they will get many sales with that BS.

I agree, hopefully most people can see through it. I was given GTA V for PS3 as a present, in my opinion it was overrated anyway :)

I've found steamprices.com useful for checking if there's anything going on with game prices.

Anyone else having issues with downloads?  I've got Origin currently downloading at 2.3MB/s yet Steam, with the download region set to NZ, can't exceed 20KB/s right now!

im currently downloading at 500KB/s (peak was 1.4MB/s).    That's with dropbox syncing in the background as well, so really Im downloading at max capacity I can.

The only NZ steam cache is Vodafones, which is being trashed with the sales.

Certain isps, such as snap do have a cache of sorts, but restricted to their ip ranges and such...

Bad speeds are somewhat, expected.... If it wasnt for the fact that my computer runs 24/7 and most updates come out while im at work - there is very little on steam for me to buy thats worth even adding to my "collection"... i have faar too many unplayed impulse buys as it is!

I picked up all the legos (well the ones I didnt have), those are at great prices.

But I picked up lego jurassic park for NZD$25 from nzgameshop.com.  Steam code, cheapest I found on the net.  3 hours until it finishes downloading :)

Vodafones cache server is really dying now.. nullrouting it gets straight to alternative servers, back to pegging line out instantly!

Thats doing better than the max of 1.5KB/s (averaging below 1KB/s) that i was getting for about 20 mins there.. surprisingly soon as i made changes at the router level household usage hit the roof.... no-wonder this sale has been so quiet!

Somethign seriously borked for NZ Steam content server!!! (I'm on Vodafone Cable, Christchurch)

And tried US Honolulu, Australia NSW now US- LA... all these regions are about 1.5MB/s to 2.3MB/s (US-LA) at best.

Ild say its probably only on a gbit port or so... wouldnt be hard to congest that with the sales.

Best bet is simply to block it fornow.. it has a habbit of sneeking its way into aus serverlists.

All these servers still faster than NZ... I can leave it download all night from US-LA, otherwise it'd be 15 days for Homeworld from NZ.
