It feels like they dropped a tier in the first month and havnt budged since.

I want a Kinnect and either fifa or madden. But Im not willing to fork out $700 for all that.

Surely there is a price drop coming?

Usually console prices only drop again when the next gen is imminent (or released)

u reckon? i remember the 360 getting incremental price reductions often, to the point it got down to  $200.

i dont want it for free, but i feel its a bit over priced at the moment. i guess its about waiting on a deal, but they always bundle with crappy first person shooters or assasins creed, which no offense, doesnt do much for me, i mostly want it for media centre, xbox live and sports and fitness gaming.

Exchange rate is moving in the wrong direction at the moment for a price drop. Might even go up.

They will probably drop a lot, eventually.

How long are you prepared to wait?

More likely a price rise. There is a cost to cheap credit for buying houses, and that is a weaker NZ dollar.

They occasionally come on sale with the Kinect. $550 was the cheapest and that was a red deal through The Warehouse. If you wait it out the deals come up occasionally.

Best time to buy is around xmas or boxing day but that's 6 months away. They are about $359-$450 US new with Kinect at the moment plus shipping. So $518 + $45/$55 NZD to get one imported unless you get refurbished or second hand and you can get it even cheaper.

I'd wait for The Warehouse Red deal or the end of the year. They will get cheaper just like any console just takes time :-)

no thats a loss of 40% of peoples savings when the auck bubble bursts and they ignorantly ask how this happened. cant wait for that true cost to occur :-)

yeah i looked at used, can get some reasonable prices with remainder of warranty, $200 off. might be the best way forward for now.

I hope the bubble does burst so people can learn their lesson that housing is not a one way street

cannot see that happening any time soon.  Govt and Reserve Bank is going to do absolutely everything in their power to keep the Ponzi scheme happening.  Happy house owners = happy voting bloc

i agree, i blame the Govt for covering up the GFC to NZ whilst it caused havoc overseas and people got over the real cost.

here in nz we went the other way and thought it was time to pretend we have more money than we do. people selling houses only to keep chasing a carrot stick that grows every time they sell, largely created by overseas investors, not these so called immigrants.

where do they think these immigrants are going to live. somebody still has to collect the rubbish, wait on tables etc, how they going to do that when the investor needs $1200pw to cover his/her squaller IP. i feel aucklrds are also not realising the impact its negatively having on the rest of the country.

so for those reasons, greedy socks deserve whats coming. imo.

bit of a side track there haha, more fun predicting the RE market than playing xbox.

I would get the console asap, if there is any shift down in the US, the crap exchange rate will give them a reason not to do it locally.

Might be better to just go and get a brand new one then wait for a deal on a used one to come up. Waiting around is weeks of gaming you are not getting to enjoy.

I can tell you that GTA online is full of potty mouthed aussie kids most of the time.

I purchased a Xbox One with Kinect over  year ago and it has been worth the cost and now with the new features including media player, Netflix etch its even better and there is much more coming like Win 10 for Xbox and PVR capability.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
