I knew it was on the way, but until I saw it at the Warehouse today I didn't realise it had actually been released.  Bit pricey, but looks very cool. So who has it and what are your first impressions?

I'm still debating whether I want to go headlong into this financial sinkhole...

My kids pooled their birthday money and bought it. It's very good as far as I can see. Even with the base characters you still get to play other levels such as Dr Who.

Some levels however needyou to buy the level pack eg the Simpsons. And don't be fooled as some packs are Team Packs and not level packs eg jurassic world which gets you a free roam world but not a campaign level.

I think for me the biggest issue is that it seems like just another Lego game - and my kids have almost all of them.

On the plus side my kids are still playing it after a week and haven't finished it unlike Skylanders which they finished in a matter of days.

Still thinking about buying, played it a bit. Not many interesting characters and packs so far. From what I have played of it, the gameplay doesn't feel significantly different than the dozens of Lego games already out, like Lego Batman, Lego Superheroes, Lego Harry Potter etc. For me, Infininty 3.0 is a more fun environment, primarily due to the characters and stories involved. It's not a slight on the game, just a preference thing I think. For me, Dimension's currently has one fun character - Batman. I'd like to try the Portal 2 level pack, but none of the other packs released interest me in the least.

Console only - otherwise I'd be broke.

I'd agree with that Infinity 3 is good value at ~$90. The kids did however finish the included campaign quickly.

Got it last week and have been playing through it with Significant Other.  She's "not a gamer" but given that Lego and Dr Who (releasing on Nov 4th) are two of her interests, I've managed to get her interested enough to play it and she's quite enjoying it.  As am I.  :-)
That said, the only other Lego game I've got is Lego Rockband, so I don't have the issue of "just like every other Lego game".
Quite enjoying it though and aiming to collect the whole set on a collection basis as well as for the character abilities.

Only trouble will be that RockBand 4 arrived this morning......
Decisions decisions.....
