Is this a good price for the 1TB console?
Has it been cheaper?

yes IMO thats a great deal.  they also have a similar deal with an xbox 1tb, (tomb raider, rise of the tomb raider, halo 5, and halo master cheif collection for $525, TRs are download codes).  their website doesnt show the full xbox deal, but you can pick it up in store (well you could last week...)

Yes it's a good price.  Whether it's been cheaper before doesn't mean it will be that price again.

Mine cost $750 but that came with 3 games and 250GB drive, so I think the linked one is a good deal.

I don't seem to be able to get the free games working at checkout...

They also have a bundle offer Buy 1 PS4 Console, get 1 Game Mania PS4 Title for the price of only the PS4 console but it's not coming up free at checkout

Slightly OT: If you do choose this deal, and it's for someone that hasn't owned a PS3 (or has never played them before), I'd highly recommend choosing Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection as your free premium game. It is actually three full sized remastered PS3 games in one collection, and they are all cracker games that hold up well against the current generation of games.

Uncharted 2 in particular is widely regarded as one of the best games of the previous generation. If you like games with strong storytelling and blockbuster Indiana Jones style action, this one is hard to beat.

Thanks! You're right, we're upgrading our original Xbox (that we can't get games for anymore) and the kids are still young.
Someone just suggested the Xbox One with Kinect, will have to do some more research.

The wording on this deal seems a bit confusing - does it include 3 free games (1 premium, 2 classic) or the choice of one premium game or 2 classic games?

Ah ok! If it's for the kids, then be aware that the Uncharted games are R16. Lots of gunplay and the occasional swearing (and jokes with adult themes). I wasn't sure if it was for you, your partner, or your kids.

Brought my one about 2 weeks ago. Came with 3 Games Uncharted Collection, Assassins Creed Syndicate, and Watchdogs for $585 which was a steal. Unfortunately Mighty Ape are no longer doing this deal.

That being said $525 for the console and a game is a good deal. Just not as good as it was a few weeks ago.

Sony have said that they are going to continue doing these sort of deals with the 1TB console but I think Ubisoft realised just how much they lost with all the AC unity issues that they ended up trying to patch things up as much as possible so there is a chance that this sort of deal is a one off.

Slightly off topic but getting a 500GB PS4 isn't a bad idea. You can buy a 2TB HD these days reasonably cheap and its easy to put in the PS4 and doesn't void the warranty. Have a 2TB in mine and its great.

Having a 500GB drive was always a dumb idea. Took less than a year for mine to fill up. Like you, I've also upgraded to a 2TB drive. At the time I found them quite hard to come by though, and ended up importing one via Amazon.

whereabouts would you buy one from?  Only places I can find are overseas, pricespy etc dont really list 2.5" drives that big (unless I'm completely blind).
