This Land is a New Zealand Server

This Land is a modded server suitable for New Zealand and Australian players (due to ping times)

Features of our server:

  • The server is in New Zealand so lower ping times
  • The Center map, approx twice the size of the Island map.
  • We have 20+ mods (see the http://ark.trivial.co.nz for details )
  • Night time is two thirds the length of the day
  • Food lasts twice as long before spoiling
  • The amount of time it takes to tame creatures has been halved
  • Players earn XP at 2.5 times the normal rate
  • Resources gathering. Players find 50% more resources than on the vanilla servers
  • From level 20 players earn more Engram points per level than vanilla servers
  • Players food, water and stamina drain 25% slower
  • Players health recovers 25% faster
  • The amount of damage trees, bushes and rocks can take before being destroyed has been doubled (more resources before they are destroyed)

Mods used on our server:

  • Advanced Architecture
  • Ark Advanced
  • Behemoth Walls
  • Better Beacons
  • Big Walls
  • Bridges
  • Deep Freezer
  • Fire Arrows
  • Gate Mod
  • Industrial Grinder
  • Jurasic Ark - Electric Fences

Just to add to the initial post, loading the Mods can take a few minutes, unfortunately the Ark client does not give any visual feedback that this is working and some people might think it has crashed.  It hasn't.  It just takes time to load all the mods.

Is there any way to play this game without Steam?

Lurking ...

Probably not, it uses the steam source query system to list the available servers.  It can be played as single player but I think it will still connect to steam when launched to look for updates.

We have increased the player and dinosaur max level to 200 and slowed the progression down after level 60.

Made another change, the maximum number of players allowed i na single tribe is currently 5, this will increase as the player base increases.  The idea is to prevent the formation in the early stages of an OP alpha tribe.

We have a medium sized population, we have about 40 to 50 people online during the course of the day, usually peaks at about 20-25 at the same time in the evenings but sometimes (weekends mostly) we push towards the mid 30's

this link will take you to a 3rd party website that monitors ark server populations so you can see the fancy charts etc :)

cheers, hope to see you online some time.

So the redwood biome for the center map is due in a few days, give or take.

See here for a preview of the new extension to the map.
