I really like this squad based top down RPG's, and it reviewed well, I got a great deal on it, and started playing it last night.

I am struggling, mostly because I have NO IDEA what is going on in this game. The story is so weird and hard to follow. I haven't got far, the tutorial is horrible too.

I am hoping it improves for me ASAP because otherwise, I'm gonna flag it.

Zero Dawn Horizon by comparison is loads of fun and really fantastic. I see lots of scope for it to get even better. Finding accuracy on small targets on the PS4 quite a challenge, mouse is so much easier than stick!

Did you play the original PS:T? It is my favourite game of all time, but also took a full play through to figure out what was going on... and multiple play throughs to really appreciate it.  I'm curious because I'm somewhat keen to try Tides, and I've heard some good things about it, but always keen to hear more opinions.

Well I am coming from Neverwinter nights and it's ilk, where the story is fictional, but still resembles something you can follow.

I suspect once I am in a bit further things might become clearer, but right now I am pretty confused. No I never played the original.
