I have been playing the game for while now- My parnter has just set up a user account (and network) on my PS3 and has been playing it for one session then saved and shut down system. I have come alone and started it up when it got to the black screen and the LOADING... (what ever stage I was at) in the bottom right corner it frezzes and says is loading. All I can do is quit the game and then the PS3 crashes and restarts. Anybody had this problem- I was going to delete the game utility and then reload- what you think?

60gb PS3 has some issues with GTA IV which if you google will advise you to delete your game data and reinstall, check if it relate to you.
Otherwise if you shutdown your PS3 during saving it is likely your save game is corrupt and you may need to delete it and start again.

Not necessarily 60gb. I have a 40gb and had a terrible time starting to play it yesterday!

First try deleting the game data and reinstalling. That helped me yesterday.

Today I had more problems though, and had to sign out of PSN to actually play (to sign out, you go to the Friends list, hit Triangle on your name and select Sign Out). I signed up to the Rockstar Social Club and linked my PSN account and it started working again! You might want to attempt that, and let me know. I reported this to GPForums and some people are having some success with this as well.

Some research on the internet lead me to believe that this isn't a good thing to do. So, if you can't connect, try it, if you can, wait until the patch :P

Mine was working fine this morning. Now it will only load the mission if the internet connection is disabled.
Just have to wait until they patch the game.

Had this problem once in the weekend.
I just restarted and load, restart and load and it eventually worked.
