I have a superslim PS3 that I still use for a couple of things. It somehow lost it's pairing with my Harmony remote the other day, I have now resynced it but I can no longer use the remote to turn the PS3 on.

If I turn it on manually the remote control works fine once the PS3 has started up.

As a test I paired it with an official PS3 remote, and the same thing happens - can't turn it on via remote, but once turned on manually remote works fine.

My dual shock controller is dead flat, so am charging that now to test.

Has anyone come across this problem before, where bluetooth works fine except for turning the console on? I've Googled and can't find anything specifically related to this - just people whose controllers don't work.

I've done a factory reset of the console, but it has made no difference.

EDIT: OK, so just tested with a charge Dual Shock 3 Contoller and the same thing happens - can't turn system on via controller, but controller connects happily and works if I turn the PS3 on manually.

Looks like it was a sign that the bluetooth and wifi were on the way out. Now bluetooth and wifi don't work at all.

Replacing it with one off Trademe.
