Ok this maybe the silly question of the day, my other flatmate is looking at getting his own PS3. Since the units will only be around 10m apart, when you hit the PS button on the wireless controller will it switch both units on and cause conflicts?

When the system first turn on (or after a factory reset) it requires you to plug your controller to the USB, and I think this is to pair up that controller with that system.

What do the controllers use ? Standard wireless or bluetooth ? I forgot to have a close look when I was hogging my friends PS3 last week.......  couldnt waste time looking at hardware when GTA was in the drive Wink

Both Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii use bluetooth. And they paired up to specific console and will not interrupt another console of the same model. Sony does the pairing via USB from the first start-up/setup/reset, and there after with new controller. Nintendo does it via synchro button on the console unit and the controller, you can also do a one-time/temporary pairing by just activate the Wii remote controller and it will seek out the console.
