I'm "allowed' to buy a PS4 Pro for Christmas but am questioning if i should snap one up on a pre-Xmas deal or wait for boxing day sales?
Historically has it been advantageous to wait until boxing day sales specifically for PS4 related bundles?

Boxing day bruh
Now, before permission is revoked. :-)
I've found the Boxing Day sales to be disappointing the past few years and definitely not worth waiting for, especially for in demand items like consoles. I'd get it before Christmas, and try to snap up some gaming deals for Boxing Day.

You could always check out the shop's pricing policy. E.g. If you were to buy if from Noel Leeming next week (after Tuesday) and then found they were selling it cheaper on boxing day they'll refund you the difference. Others may do similar.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
You could also be on the lookout for "unwanted gifts" going on trademe post christmas...
Xbox tend to have some really really great boxing day sales, usually at jbhifi. So personally I would wait if I could control myself.
The deals wont get any worse on boxing day, but they may get better. So if you can wait, wait.
Mistakes by The Warehouse will usually beat a boxing day sale... ![]()
This deal was meant to be PS4 Slim 1TB + GT Sport for $439. They made a mistake and it was $375.80 instead. Then some people worked out you could add Uncharted 4, Uncharted Lost Legacy and Wipeout Collection and the price remained at $375.80. The stock for the additional games didn't last long, so you had to be quick. I didn't buy one because I'm happy with my Xbox One. The orders have been honoured by the way.
This is the best deal for a Pro currently.

This if you can.
Last year I bought a Galaxy S7 phone on a pretty good deal just before Xmas from Noel Leeming, but left it in the retail packaging and kept the receipt handy just in case the Boxing day deals were better. They were considerably better so I popped back down to the store and they gave me the lower price. They wouldn't give me cash but gave me a Noel Leeming voucher for the difference, which was better than a punch in the nuts.
I read an article, about cheapest prices years ago. From memory, expensive was November, and early December. Thats the Xmas shoppers time, get their money. Closer to Xmas, its time to clear stocks, although these days its the Boxing Day frenzy. Cheapest time is Jan and Feb. Retaii is dead. Money is already spent on Xmas and Boxing Day, they have wages and expenses to pay, so they need to generate cashflow. That the sales may lose some money isn't the issue, they need cash.
I will stick my neck out bigly here, and predict that Briscoes will have a sale in January. You heard it here first....
Wade: I have no patience... lol..... bought one from JB Hi-fi today, $499 incl GT Sport game
