Not too much so far but I think the drunk gunslinger in Valentine with the guy writing a book about him is the retired gunslinger from RDR that kind of mentors John Marston in Mexico.

Drunk guy in Valentine is Jim Boy Calloway. You're thinking of Landon Ricketts.

Oh yip, I wasn't paying much attention tbh. I'm thinking of restarting the game now that I've sussed out most of the mechanics and have made a few significant mistakes so far :)

Things I've noticed:

If you're going to cause a ruckus in town make sure you have a dedicated "robbery outfit" and use a different set of weapons. Even though you're wearing a mask people will still recognize you by the clothes you wear and the guns you use.

At a farm and need to dispose of a body? find a pig sty.

On a mountain and need to dispose of a body? Leave it, the vultures will arrive in ~5 minutes.

If you die and have a legendary pelt on your horse it will be send to the Trapper so you can still craft with it.
