I don't buy that many games, but occasionally one comes out that I am really interested in so want to get it on release day. I'm talking Xbox One and PS4.

I've noticed that there are almost always specials for new release games in the stores for physical copies (e.g. RDR2 for $90 to 95), but I would prefer digital copies to save from messing around with physical media. But digital never seem to have any discount for new releases (e.g. RDR2 is $110).

Is there any way to get a discounted price similar to what is offered in stores for a digital copy of a new release game?

:) I doubt it,

The online sale means all the profit margin goes to the games company- they are unlikely to want to give any of it to you :(

With the Instore sale the games company have to give up some of the sale to the store operator- and they can choose to let you have some of it to tempt you in store...

Also some of the stores may be loss leading, selling the physical game to you at cost ( or lower) on the hope you will pick up some other stuff in store that they can make $$$ off...
