Where do you buy your pc games / cd keys from?

In the past i went to thailand and brought back about 5-10 games for my brother was quite cheap i remember, about $20-40 per game with original cd keys.

I just bought a new PC (e8500/8450/4gb) and i want to buy some games/cd keys for playing online...

So far on steam i've purchased Orange Box + DoD:S steam key for $5 + Counter Strike/Garys Mod combo.
Would've bought CoD4 on steam if bloody activision priced it reasonably instead of selling it $20 above retail.

Considered getting Crysis Warhead on steam also until i heard it had Securom on that version too, so i scrapped that idea.

Best thing about steam is the no disks, fair copy protection which allows you to load it on as many computers as you want (can only play one at a time) and the friends network and a great server browser. It simply makes buying a game and playing it so simple.

All DSE stores offer 10% off to their VIP members, its not a powerhouse exclusive.
GPstore is now known as MightyApe

I also get my games from DSE.

Yeah, i knew about GPStore joining mightyape but i still call it gpstore out of habit.
I also knew the discount worked in all stores, however my VIP card says powerhouse on it for some reason, its one of the old laminated ones.

The application form you can find in-store.

You must send in a $100 or more purchase receipt to become a member.  I think you can pay a small sum to join if you don't purchase anything.

Yes I’ve done it.   It can work out really well if you are shrewd with your purchases. e.g. I got GTA4 for Xbox 360 on day of launch (not pre-ordered, just walked into the Kroad DSE and asked if they had any)  for 89.99.      (99.99 less 10%)  I think that was the cheapest you could get it anywhere.
Same for new PC games generally

Other than that, I generally use trademe if I am after an older game. I got Total annihilation + all expansions for $5 a few months back
