Looks to be a big jump in graphics quality.
I hope that GTA 6 has graphics like this.
Demos always look better though.

Watched it earlier today on the big tv and it looked amazing. Felt slightly claustrophobic when she was navigating through the narrow cliff passages. Will be a lot of ps4s going up on Trade Me / Facebook Marketplace within the next couple of months I reckon.
Looks bloody good. I tend to compare graphics quality to whatever the latest ID Tech version is out. Doom Eternal uses ID Tech 7. I wonder how good the Doom graphics would look if they went for realism.
Unreal 5 looks like the one to beat presently.
I wasn't as impressed as others here it would seem. The best part of it was the last action bit. I have been pretty happy with my lighting dynamics in games for a long time now. Forza Horizons 4 has some of the most beautiful lighting systems I've ever seen in a game, when you drive through a glade on a sunny day, just wow.
I'll still be pre-ordering my PS5 :)
Saw the demo this morning too - totally blew me away. Put me down for a PS5 too.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

What in particular blew you away? I am not making a case for you being so or not, I am just genuinely wondering if I missed something fundamental that left me feeling a bit "meh".
In my experience, overall, whilst eye candy is something I like, if the action and story is good, to some degree, other than the occasional particular scene or environment, you an only absorb so much detail and still play...
I just looked at some HD forza horizons 4 in game footage... it does look great, but the textures are fuzzy compared to the unreal engine 5 demo.
Demos can be misleading though.

I was blown away by the eye candy. No idea if the game was something I would be into myself - just wasn't enough of it to determine that. But OH MY GOD if I was dithering on buying a PS5 or not before...I'm definitely getting one now. And probably a new 4K HDR TV to go with it (still only have a 1080p for the PS4). Im not a heavy gamer at all so prefer a console over a gaming PC for that reason. Having grown up in the era of the ZX Spectrum this just amazes me.
TLDR: I want one!

The visuals were stunning - the detail in the falling and crumbling rock, the realism of movement e.g. in her scarf as pointed out in the commentary, the textures and the lighting. Hundreds of millions of triangles being drawn at the same time - some down to one pixel in size (although that bit didn’t quite make sense to me). It looked amazing and the closest to real-life video I had ever seen in a game.
Having said all that, the subject matter of the demo was a little surprising or disappointing - it was almost monochromatic - or at least a narrow colour palette. Other subject matter might have shown to even better effect.
I don’t see why anyone could fail to be impressed by it.

That is awesome!
The little things make the biggest difference.
The graphics were very impressive. Maybe time to order a PS5 as I didnt get a PS4 because on gaming pause.
What struck me was how limited the game play looked. ie forward, left right, "interact"
A.
A must-have console for rock and stone based game enthusiasts.
I picked up my PS4 on launch day back in 2014 then traded it for a PS4 Pro on launch day. Theres a good chance I'll pick up the PS5 on launch too but I'll likely keep the PS4 Pro for the spare room as it won't be worth much.
I still have my fat PS3 upstairs packed away in the loft too.
Here’s a couple of guys discussing the UR5 engine and PS5 and Xbox Series X. The new consoles will be out later this year but they say games based on the UR5 engine won’t be available until 2021-22.

Xbox Series X for me...
