I have just bought a PS3 mainly as a Blu-Ray player but I also would like to play a game or two. When I played on the PC I usually only ever played FPS like Quake, Doom, Soldier of Fortune, Duke Nukem, Far Cry, Blood, etc.

What games should I look for? I read the Far Cry 2 thread but this game sounds disappointing. My wife will only let me buy 1 or 2 at the most :-(

I've heard Resistance is great, sequel is coming out soon so might be a good time to catch up on the story.  Also, Bioshock is coming out for PS3 soon, or might even be out - best combination of story+graphics+gameplay for a long time imo.

I like Resistance : Fall of Man ... was one of the launch titles so is a bit old now, but that means it's now cheap(er) :-)

There is also that Unreal game, Quake, Medal of Honor series, Fallout (kind of an RPG/PFS cross).

Get yourself to JB-HiFi and have a browse! :-)

Resistance was awesome...

I usually look up online stores and watch gameplay videos befoe buying...check this link, FPS/Action/Adventure PS3 titles at DSE.

Fallout 3 could also be a nice option!

my 2 cents...

yea, i agree with the last posts. resistance fall of man was actually quite good...i wasnt expecting much with it being a launch title but i was blown away...awesome story line, decent graphics...and the range of guns is pretty large too...with a whole lot of alien tech you get some mean one which gets stronger when you shot it through walls :D

I'd go for GTAIV ... mainly as my girlfriend gets into it as well and thus we're not watching Channel 2 pap

... + Resistance . Scored mine for $27 ! beautiful game . Especially for a release title .
