i'm looking for an opinion on the witcher. as i have been considering buying it
so. anyone willing to shed a little light as to whether or not it's worth paying $80
on?

might be to late but there is a demo out there that will give you a good idea.

Ive played a little of it and its not bad..  Seems a little too linear for my liking so far though but in saying that Ive only played a couple of hours tops.  Combat seems it'll improve with levels, game play it runs smooth as on my system at 1680x1050.. Downsides are the huge installs - around 16gb from memory.  Other than that if you liked the NWN engine I'd say go for it - I hated NWN2 btw..
