I'm seeing Nintendo Switches for sale on eBay, without their controllers, console tablet only.

Is that because people have bought a second Switch, because they broke the first Switch's controller(s)? Seems like an expensive exercise if that's the case.

Also are Nintendo Switches region locked?

Having had to fix one controller (new parts from eBay) and recently replace the second on my kids' Switch, I wouldn't be surprised if people have had the same problems, as they do seem to be pretty poorly designed/made. I'd have still thought it was worth replacing the controllers than buying an entirely new device! (Paid $60 for a s/h one from EB Games.)

No, there's no region locking on the Switch.
