Hi,

Just checking, but if you purchase a game for Xbox, can you also run that on a windows 10 PC, or is it platform specific?

Looking at Microsoft flight sim 2020 and can run this on my PC, but if I get a newer xbox, can I run it on there too at a later date?

How does that work?
Looking to purchase from microsoft directly online, not via gamepass or stream etc.

Thanks.

Yes you only need to pay once for Xbox game studios published and Microsoft published games now. Whether you pay on Xbox or PC does not matter as it will be available to download for free on the other platform. Most games already and moving forward new games are also cross play so progress will carry on too. I wish 3rd party developers follow this moving forward as well.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Only applies to digital copies - I didn't realize this at first, and got stuck with a hard copy of Forza Horizon 4 - luckily found someone to buy it, and I got the digital version so I can play on either system.

Yup only applies to some games, ie those that support window.

Game Pass is great as you pay once and can install on supported platforms. Well worth trying it out as the 1st month is very cheap.

Can you cancel game pass easily?  Mental to get likes of flight sim for $1 on trial etc and then try it out, before shelling out $100+

Can anyone confirm flight sim 2020 is a dual play candidate?  It does look to have the icon to indicate it is.

Thanks for all the info.
