thats probably not what you're after, if nothing else you really want something with a discrete graphics card instead of integrated

I think the Quadro K2200 graphics card is probably the weakest point there, but it could still be used for basic gaming. Certainly not all games would run but many would, particularly at lower resolutions or graphics settings. Were there any particular games that they would like to play on it?

actually I see that the K220 is a discrete card, my bad. This looks like an old design / graphics workstation type of machine - are you able to provide any more info on what games you want to play on it?

What are they planning on Playing???

The number of PC titles seems to be on a decline compared to the 2 big consoles....

Would it be okay or decent for gaming?
No.
Could it "run" some games at low to med at 1080p, yes.*

These games that it could kind of run would be at least a decade old, if not more.

Honestly, if money is tight look for a 2nd hand Xbox S and gamepass.
Better value and experience.

Its 10 years old,  so dont pay much for it, upgrade video to something newer (RX480 or 1050Ti) and it'll go "ok" for things such as Fortnite, GTA etc with video tweaking.

No idea what you're being charged, but I paid $1200 for a similar machine three years ago. Except it had double the ram, and an AMD Firepro 4GB card.

Thanks all
Ex-lease price was $199 but sounds like it isn’t what we are after
Same child bought himself an Xbox s at the start of the year which plays everything he needs but still seems to think he is missing out by not having a gaming pc lol

Buy him a Keyboard and mouse with RGB lights to plug into the Xbox, then get  a cheap  gaming chair, stick them all in the back office

He'll feel just like all the other PC gamers :) :)

I'm biased, but at the risk of starting a flame war, he is missing out.. PC gaming _is_ superior to console, albeit vastly more expensive.

Console gaming is more than fine, I say this as someone that just spent $1700 on a new GPU 7900xtx. That was just GPU alone, a gaming PC that would run better than an Xbox would cost.... $1000 to $2000.
Depending on pre-built vs DIY built and parts.

He has all of that, I think the bugbear is the Xbox controller turning off while using the keyboard and mouse and it disrupts the game?

You know plugging in the controller with a USB C cable would fix that?

Or turn off auto sleep,
