Hi from your friends at ButtonMasher.

We have heard multiple reports of Xbox 360 owners having terrible speed issues with Xbox Live downloads. Here are the stories we have published about the issue:

Xbox Live Download Content: Trickling to a marketplace near you

Crawling Xbox Live Downloads - Xbox NZ responds; Telecom questioned

Would Xbox 360 owners please kindly post what their experiences have been when downloading from Xbox Live? We are referring specifically to downloads from the Marketplace from your Xbox 360 console - not your broadband speeds in general.

It is believed at this stage that speed problems are isolated to Xbox Live downloads, and that seemingly only Telecom Wholesale customers are being affected - however we would like to collate some experiences to further investigate where the problem lies.

Many thanks :)

Edit: When posting, could you please include the following information?

1. Your ISP
2. Your plan/speed (ADSL/ADSL2+/Cable and 256kbps/2Mbps/FullSpeed)
3. Your experience when downloading XBL content from the marketplace

Took me about 48 hours to download the Mythic map pack for halo 3 over the weekend just been.

Play speeds seem OK.  I'm Telecom broadband, and all the other aspects of the net seem to be going fine.

Cheers.

It took me god know how many hours to download the combustable map pack for Gears of War.  I just left it going overnight.  I am on Xnet FS/FS.  However Xbox live downloads have always been terrible gameplay is fine.

So that we can actually determine where the problem lies, would you mind posting your ISP and what kind of plan you are on (eg. Cable/ADSL/ADSL2+)?

ADSL2+ (non-cabinet, ~5k from exchange, around 3.5Mbit sync) with Snap.

30-40 mins was an estimate, as I started about 15 downloads from the marketplace totalling around 2GB, which completed in around 3-4 hours (I was surprised when I switched it off that evening that it didn't remain in standby completing the downloads).
