Oh its a sad day indeed! 3Drealms has gone bust! Cry. I actually thought Duke nukem forever may come out!!

Still have very fond memorys of the games these guys made, shadow warrior, max payne, terminal velocity and obviously Duke Nukem 3D.. They also produced a lot of games with apogee which was newly resurrected as a devision of 3drealms and there is talk that this has closed too. I played just about every game they made but favourites were: Commander Keen, Secret agent, wacky wheels, hocus pokus, rise of the triad, monster bash and of course Duke 1 & 2.. *Getting all nostalgic over here* going to have to download dosbox this weekend and replay these games!

Linkage: Shacknews Gamasutra

RIP Duke!

Here lies 'Shake it, baby!' and 'Wanna dance? Wanna dance?'.

I always called it "Duke Nukem ForNever". :) As for 3D Realms - never liked them. Preferred Apogee, still do. Yes, yes, I know they're the same, but the "Apogee" brand had better games under their banner. I mean, who could not like Crystal Caves, Bio Menace, Commander Keen, Wolf 3D, etc?

Personally, my fav. of the lot was Bio Menace.

On a related note, for those who don't follow DOS news anymore, 3D Realms released a few more games as freeware. The website however, isn't opening anymore, but you can access a cached version.

Thats funny, the website was working this morning.. Maybe an overload in traffic or perhaps its been taken down?! There were a lot of people having a moan about the forums imenient demise, they won't be too impressed.
I dont think i ever played bio menace..

Whenever I see people write about DNF, I always read it as 'Did not finish'.. seems appropriate.
