recentley i have began to notice that when i put in a game into my 360, it thinks its a dvd then comes up with the screen that i have to put in an xbox360 format game. Now this is happenin on new games aswell i just bought resident evil 5 and smackdown vs raw 2009 happenin to these only got them today, so wot i done was gave the vents a blow(sounds nasty) and out came everything must be deoderant dust and all that i look on top of my skybox and thats dead dusty so im thinkin how simple is it to take apart the xbox to give it a hoover out and get rid of all this crap??? thought i would ask for advice first before diving in heid first

if its under warranty it would make it void and would you take a hoover to the insides of you PC , if not then a xbox is no different you can gently clean the dust with soft brushes and gentle blowing

Common sense is not as common as you think.

dude youve got 8 posts and 5 are those are new threads!! could you not ask all your questions in one thread?

As for the question, get an air compressor and give it a good blow.. :). i wouldnt touch it with soft brushes!! static would be the end of your xbox.. i wouldnt "hoover" it either.. you need the opposite, blow away all the dust. But yea make sure its not under warranty or you will void it by opening it.

Cleaning the dust out isn't going to fix the DVD drive anyway.
It sounds like the lense may be dirty or out of alignment.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Each distinctly seperate issue should have its own thread, to keep the threads valuable, easy to read, and on topic.

fair enough.. other forums don't tend to take a liking to new users spamming the forums with multiple threads. but all good
