Hey guys,

Friend of mine hosted a LAN party last weekend, we played mostly TO & Civ4. We're keen on having LAN parties every month, so just wondering what kind of games Geekzone users usually play at LAN parties.

Our gaming rigs aren't that new, most of them are 3~4 years old, so new games won't work very well. Plus newer games tend to frustrate us when they don't work due to piracy protection BS.

So far, we've come up with the following:

Civ 4
Age of Empires 2

Battlefield 1942/Unreal/Quake 3 (we're not sure about this because some games limit you to 2 users per CD key on a LAN)

Any suggestions?

Ive always found Battlefield 2 to be a good lan game.

On a side note, if you each purchased a copy of the game you wish to play you would not have any problems with the anti piracy protections on a lan or playing online.

At our LANs, we find the main games are Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam (great for early hours of the morning, with the player ratios turned right up, for some pure "'mo 'em down" fun :)), and Quake 3. UT gets a good blasting, and so does Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

There are some games out there like Enemy Territory: Quakewars that don't need a CD key to run, only needing the key for online play.
