So I saw something today I kinda wish I hadnt.

http://cad-comic.com/sillies.php?d=20090815

Before this I was blissfully unaware that a new expansion had started to be announced, and it's almost got me thinking about how I might be able to afford a new game card next week....

I've been playing for 4 years on and off again. Pretty much failed my whole second year of uni cause between WoW and work I had no time for silly classes Tongue out. I got WotLK about 5 months ago, but then got a new job and barely played for the 2 months of my game card.

So what do people think about the rumors of the new expansion? Playing as a Goblin would be awesome. Not quite sure how they will work all this stuff in like they are planning.

Thoughts?

Sounds like an addiction to World of Warcraft has already negatively affected your life and you shouldn't go near it again.

Many people (including me) due to competitive nature can not play that game casually.  You'll start out thinking I'll just play a wee bit in my spare time next you know you'll be leading a guild and raids 4 hours per night 4 nights a week and your friends stop calling you because you never go out and just play wow all weekend.

Basically IRL achievements and friends > wow achievements and friends.

Haha yeah, I was like that at one stage. I have played on and off again for the last couple of years (played during uni holidays but not during the year) and pretty much managed to get myself to a stage where I was more than capable of playing casually. I havent raided since the first expansion came out, and I pretty much just played for something to do. I'm thinking about something to do now that I'm just working, and not working and studying (amazingly I have a lot more free time on my hands these days... so much for the 'real world')

Anyone heard any good rumors on what the new expansion will have in it?

What the hell happened to CAD? Last time I went there, things were in colour and weren't drawn as if he were lazy.

oh, those are what are called the 'sillies'. They are just random 3 panel comics that have nothing to do with the story line or anything. Most of the time I prefer them to the actual comic.

The announcements so far appear to be Chinese whispers - as an example, where would the Steamwheedle Cartel fit in with playable Horde Goblins? Still, goblins would be interesting as a playable race.

And just to prove I have too much time on my hands... XD

Haha awesome. Yeah I hadn't heard too much about Cataclysm, and I havent really looked into it too much.

I would link my chars, but I cant be bothered finding them all online. Got a 78 or 79 Warrior, a 71 Shaman, a 67 Lock and a few other level 30 or less chars. It's sad when you look at my warrior and see I have over 120 days played on him.

Yeah wow's to addictive - treat WoW as if its an addiction. If you drink alcohol to much you can become addicted to alcohol later on so drink in moderation. Do the same with WoW play it in moderation and be guildless - raiding guilds expect to much from you why weren't you on rah rah rah - just pug raids. Or join a guild that just dont care about moving up the ladder. Or create your own guild and let members know its going to be laid back.

Whenever i start becoming to addictive to my 80's i delete them - gone! Deleted a top Warlock in full Teir 8, Conquerer title, and a hunter in full deadly gear deleted him just before the 3.2 patch came out. Now im playing a few low level alts with BOA gear 20% increase in xp lvling up has never been easier but theirs no need to be on every night I just play in moderation. Loving STV atm on pvp server heaps of ganking goes on :) Once they're 80 and again if i find myself becoming to addictive (have to be on everynight etc.,) then I will delete them.

Chinese whispers no longer, from what's been revealed so far. And upheavals of old regions, though vaguely unsettling plotwise, gives the whole thing a fresh perspective.

Yeah, it sounds interesting enough. Although it'll be interesting to see how it changes the game for someone who isnt already at end game. Does look interesting, and looks like it's a totally different game to what it started at as. Thats probably why it's still so sucessful.

It's got quite a bit to compete with now thou. Just heard the news that Guild Wars 2 is in the later stages of development and with the Knights of the Old Republic MMO there's a bit more competition trying to cut a bit off the WoW sub list. In the mean time I'm probably starting up my sub again tomorrow. Gotta make sure I reach level 80 before Cataclysm launches haha

Seems sad to me that they are rehashing the old content.

Rehashing? Fixing, more like.
