Nothing really, they would have told you to make sure you send the console only, and no accessories. Can you imagine how many consoles they get in for repair, they are not going to keep watch of everything that people may have forgoten to take out.
You may even find you do not get 'your' console back, but someone elses refurbished unit.

i understand that...but with YLOD the ps3 doesnt boot up long enough for you to be able to eject the disc. i sat there for over 30mins turning it on and off trying to get the system to eject the disc and it didnt work. and considering this fault can only occur while the ps3 is on (which majority of the time u are either watching a blu-ray or playing a ps3 game) surely there must be a process for this.

also, when i returned to the point of sale (bond and bond) they made a note that a disc was in there and it had to be returned.

I'd say you'd need to track back through your involvement. If you handed it to Bond and Bond then that's who you have to deal with about it. What they did with it after that in some ways is irrelevant. If you've only dealt with them about this issue, then personally I'd start there.

Well hopefully you've got Bond and Bond's word as proof that the disc was in there, can you tell them that and get Bond and Bond to verify it?

Also, like you said, if you can't actually eject the disc because of the fault, then it has to have been in there.

Ahh, so now you tell us the full story....

Like the others have mentioned, do you have written confirmation from Bond and Bond that your disc was still in there? If so, just ask them where your disc is when you collect the console, or when they call you to advise that your console is back.
Give them a couple of days to get your disc back, or ask them to supply a replacement. Assuming that it has not already been away for too long.
