Im currently running a GeForce 8600GT with a low profile bracket (as my case is only low profile) and it works ok with TF2 etc but would like to upgrade, but being low profile shortens my options heaps.

Anyone recommend a card???

Can you upgrade your case?  The really good cards just won't fit in a low profile form factor.

Otherwise the best one I've seen is a 9600GT (example).  A quick look at a L4D benchmark showed the 9600GT performing about twice as good as a 8600GT.  No idea if that performance gain is typical or not.
