Firstly, I feel that there is possibly a case for a new forum dealing with digital distribution matters. Topics such as new methods of digital media distribution, video distribution (Xbox/PS3 etc.) and so on. What do the moderators think about this idea?

Secondly, after yesterday's new PS3 firmware update a TVNZ On Demand icon appeared in the video section of the XMB and was quickly removed. It appears that Sony is working worldwide with providers of re-run online media providers to ensure that customised sites that work smoothly with the PS3 browser are made available for the PS3. Note that the other European sites that had this capability released yesterday only provide 're-run' videos and not 'live' TV.

See the comments at the bottom of this page about TVNZ On Demand here: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/11/18/playstation-3-firmware-v3-10-facebook-friends-list-details/

Bit of a SNAFU by Sony to jump the gun but at least we have more content to look forward to on the PSN.

Finally, VidZone is coming to PSN in NZ on December 10 and Sony continue to insist that the PSN Video Store will come in the first quarter of next year.

So... (cos I haven't able to update to 3.10 firmware) Is TVNZ OnDemand not made the cut? I saw it was briefly mentioned in the blog then later it went MIA. Was hoping it will appear/be available with 3.10.

@chiefie: No it's not there. It was removed pretty quickly and so were the posts complaining about that fact. Someone posted a screenshot of it there but this morning when I looked that post was gone too.

Yes i was there to see the post claiming the TVNZ OnDemand Flash Player as part of the XMB - then it was withdrawn.. Sucks really - would've been really neat :)

I can also see that James (the Blog writer) has replied to some of the queries regarding the TVNZ OnDemand missing with the same words over and over again:
"Hi , Sorry for the slow reply but I posted the TVNZ image inadvertently but I expect to be able to update you all properly soon."

That means he let the cat out of the bag when it wasnt ready to advertise?

Exactly! I would also imagine that the timing of this could be potentially embarassing with the Tivo launch just a few weeks ago. Let's hope that the official launch of TVNZ On Demand for PS3 is shortly.

I got TVNZ on demand working through the web browser once, it was terminator.

The picture was ok, but the motion wasn't smooth, like to many frames were being dropped.

I know the PS3 is capable of more, hopefully customized software does the trick.
