Xbox 360 Elite bundle - Falcon or Jasper?

I have been advised that the current Xbox 360 Elite bundle (w/Pure & Lego Batman) are older Falcon chipsets and not he current Jasper model. Is anyone able to confirm this and comment on whether the Jasper is significantly better than the Falcon? With one retialer offering a boxing day special on this bundle at $399 it is very temptingbut eveything i've read suggests you are better off with a Jsper chipset.

Any comments welcome. Thanks

I wouldn't know sorry, but wither it be jasper or falcon you are covered by the same warranty,

Just check the box that the manufacture date is this year? for jasper

Harvey Norman has the Elite Bundle Package for $376 with Pure and Lego Batman game. Pretty sure since start of this year, all consoles are Jasper.

Falcons are very reliable chips as well.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Falcon's are fairly reliable, though you'll be lucky for it to last over 2 years.

Thanks for the responses....although still no definitive answer. I missed the $375 special at HN (sold out) so EB Games at $399 is next best offer. The EB Games staff advised the units on sale were Falcons not Jaspers.

Any other good specials people are aware of?

Harvey Norman in Hamilton still has plenty of the $375 Elite units left. Deal finishes tomorrow.

Otherwise EB games seems like the best price.

I finally took the plunge and bought an xbox today. While HN had sold out of their 360 Elite bundle, I was able to gate Dick Smith to price match at $375. The manufacter date on the console is 13 September 2009 so Jasper it is.

I then went to NL and beat them down to $175 for the wireless racing wheel that includes Forza 3. All up I'm very happy with my purchases.
