god of war 3 coming march 2010,  also available in a compendium with updated versions of GOW 1 and 2  for the ridiculous price of $299.
$300 for 1 brand new game, and 2 old ones, with updated graphics.  what a rort.

I want to get 1 and 2, but don't want to wait until March and pay $300 for them.
God of War 1 and 2 have been available in other countries, updated for the PS3 in a 'compendium', for some time now, but not in NZ for some reason.

Best I can find is a version on trademe for $95 example , but I know the same compendium was selling in the US for only $30USD, which is only $40 NZD.

Is there some other way to get 1+2 compendium (I can wait for part 3 until march)  without paying a ridiculous $95 NZD price tag?

The Europe/PAL of GoW 3 is set in a Ultimate Collectors' edition, which comes with more than just 3 games. I'm going to get it, as I have not played GoW1 and 2 and had tried the GoW3 demo and loving it.

It'll be a good spend.

He specifically said without paying $95, so he certainly isn't going to pay $99.

Of course, this all means we need to understand that game prices here have no direct relation to those in the US, and just get over the fact that it costs more - no matter how much we hate it.

$76 is a reasonable price. cheers.

Kyanar, I wouldn't expect to get it for $40NZD of course, but the $30USD price tag is quite a bit lower than a typical new release which are normally around $50-60USD, so I was expecting that it should be available for a price quite a bit less than $100.

the $300 for the compilation is an absolute rort - it means you are paying, what, $100 for the 'bonus' content over and above the 3 games.

If you're a collector, even just the box itself looks pretty sweet. If youre not, then of course it's not.

Damn... tempting. But $300 in one go! That's about a month's worth of my game spending!

You can get the american version for $39.99 USD, which is just over $50 NZD. It will play on the PS3. Shows just how much we get ripped for games. So, if you can some how get your hands on a USA copy, or even better if you know someone in the USA, you can save a lot.
