I bought GHWT towards the start of 2009.  Sometime last year I noticed the strum bar would intermittently fail to strum down (up worked OK).  It would occasionally work, so I kind of ignored it since I don't play very often.  I was playing this weekend and the same thing happened making it quite hard to play on the harder difficulties.

Anyway, finally sick of the problem, especially considering it's hardly used even though it's over a year old now, I thought I'd do something about it, but what?  I got it from K Mart and as far as I know they don't do games any more so I'm probably out of luck there.  In any case it's outside warranty I'm sure but what about the CGA?

It's hard to say what reasonable use is in this case, but it really is hardly used (you can tell by looking at it, even more certain I'm sure looking inside would show a lack of wear) so I would expect it to last longer than this.  A search on the net shows that this is a fairly common complaint with these guitars.  I guess I'm probably out of luck taking this issue to the distributor.  What do you guys reckon?

Otherwise do I buy a new guitar ($100)?  Or try to repair based on online guides it looks pretty easy, just swapping out a couple of switches inside.  Has anyone tried this?
