Me and my partner are away from eachother quite alot and we would love something like the sims we could do, something personal, fun and something that keep us 'together' in the game, so it will make us feel close as we can be or any chat room suggestions, safe, friendly and for adults?

We like the idea of the Sims but is there a way we can visit eachother on it?
We have tried many including our favourites, Smallworlds.com, some facebook application chatroom (most spoke another language though but had microphone and webcam option.) We have also tried lots others most seem to be for younger children though and never seem to have any older people searching for friendship, as the older ones seem to include alot of sexual activity. We don't mind download as long as it is safe but would prefer not to.

Any suggestions?

I remember trying out IMVU (http://www.imvu.com/) a while back, it seemed pretty cool for what it was. It is basically a chat program in 3D. This could be a solution.

The only other multi-player games I can think of would be war/quest oriented fantasy style games. If you are both OK with that then there are hundreds of MMORPG style games online.

Now, I hate for my first post to be contrary, but in my experience online role playing type applications are what you make of them.

The checklist you are requesting sound like Secondlife would fit the bill perfectly. It would only be "about sex and things" if that is what your wife and yourself sought out.
I've spent a very brief time checking out Secondlife, and never once came across little pixelated folk cavorting for all to see.

You and your wife could have your respective virtual residences. You could go and visit each other, and if the mood strikes, you  could do whatever you like behind locked ( I assume ) doors.

Scrabble anyone?

World of Warcraft.

Plenty of husband and wife teams in the game, usually works out he goes some big sexy warrior class while you be the sexy female bloodelf healer and run round in the game doing kids stuff like questing for 60 bear skins etc.,

He kills stuff and you like the good wife heals his wounds... and makes him dinner! lol
