But I can only play one MMO :(  Well i dont think i would/could pay for 2 monthly fees and try grind both games i would probably die of exhaustion.  So far Warhammer 40k is winning by a slight margin.

Damn the vids are good though.

If they do the 40k MMO properly, I will never play another game ever again ;-P

I have very high hopes and tragically low expectations for it though. I just didnt like Warhammer:Online that much, and I'm wondering if they can really do 40k justice.

They both look really cool.

However if you have the typical geek personality type I would warn you that MMO's are to be avoided unless you're looking for a 2nd job.

There is a good thread on Something Awful regarding this MMO.

I can't post links yet but it is in the MMO HMO sub forum. Many people are waiting with baited breath for this one, including me.

The main point of contention though seems to be that how can any single player stand up to a space marine?

Fanboys, all of them.

It would seem that combat is in the third person, with firing reticles center screen, though any and all UI developments are early days of course.

There is also speculation that you will have a squad, or retinue to control on the field, as opposed to a single character.

Also, no vehicles planned for release, so perhaps the deathkopta's and  bikes in the movie are the gryphons and windriders of the 41st Millennium?

that was my first thought too :P

I guess it depends on how they make the space marines. do they make them as tough as in the fluff (i.e. virtually invincible) or as tough as in the older editions of the game (i.e. tough, but not all that much tougher than grunts of other races).

do we know if it is going to be an MMORPG, or just an MMO?

I think it will work better as an MMO with battles something like Star Wars Battlefront. drop into a campaign as a space marine and find yourself in pitched battles against hundreds of orks all played by real people, with real people at your side as marines.

I think the idea is "MMO Dawn of War" but who knows.

By the way, how tough is a space marine when a warp spider exarch materializes two feet behind him?

Race based flame war, gogogo!
