Hi There!

I am in the market for a pair of 24" LCD's to replace some philips 240pw's which have had nothing but trouble since I got them.

I have always bought Samsung's and I have 3 of them on my desk at home, but I am wondering if someone else has an opinion on alternatives. The model of Samsung I am looking at is the 2443BW+. I like the fact they are bright enough to sear your eyeballs, and height adjustable and have thin bezels and I much prefer the black matt finish to the high gloss alternatives. I also have looked at the HP ZR24W. They are primarily office use. The Philips are a IPS Panel but honestly I am not sure I ever noticed any difference.

I do not want Dell Ultrasharps even though I do think they are nice monitors. BTW I have 2 brand new 2009w's if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands.

Requirements in order of preference.

1900x1200 Resolution
At least 24"
Thin Bezel
Height Adjustable

Budget $600 per monitor Maximum.

I really want something spectacular.

Thanks in advance.

If you're OK with 1920x1080, a good alternative would be the AOC 2434pw.

Not only is it height adjustable, it can also rotate between portrait and landscape orientation.

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. How are you finding those monitors? I've been considering them, can you notice a difference to TN panels from the front?

If I get one will be dual screening with another 24" TN panel

The 1200 high is becoming real hard to find now, most I have seen recently have been very average screens.

I would love to get something high res and LCD, but noone makes them, thinking that slapping FULL HD on things is going to make them sell because people seem to think that full hd means high resolution.

I would love the res of the 27" imac on a 24 so that 2 will fit on a desk. Doubt we will see that. Monitor makers seem to target those with marginal and average eyesight with their DPI decisions.
