Hello all, i thought i would ask the experts instead of making the wrong decision here

I am looking at 2 different pc builds for about the same price (2k) but not sure which to get, i want something that will last a while and be easy to upgrade, i wont be needing to play the most challenging games but would like to be able to handle silent hunter 5 well.

my two options are

A: Intel Core I5 760 2.66
nVidia GTX 460 768mb
8G ddr3 Ram 1333
750Watt power supply

or

B: Intel Core i7 860 2.8
nVidia GTS-250 512mb
6G ddr3 Ram 1333
400Watt power supply

Option A seems to offer best gaming now and option b seems to be more future proof having the better CPU, any thoughts would be appreciated

Definitely option A.

I would go for option B if power supply is >650 watt.

Are you going to build the whole system yourself?

nope, i am choosing between 2 local companies here in Wlg. Both packages are customizable but it seems that for the budget i have i can get the best of both worlds of cpu and gpu.

I would like to suggest computerlounge.co.nz. They do a really good job with my system build (shipping is free). Have a look at their forum HERE

Yeah option A, power supply is way to low on option B and you can always ad more ram/better graphics later when need.

Option A, definitely. Can also say Computer Lounge are good too I've used them a lot, I know a few people in Christchurch that use them a lot too so don't let the fact they are in Auckland.

Thanks for the help all, i have gone for option A in the end, managed to get a good deal with a local company, basically the same deal as Computerlounge. Cant wait to get stuck into starcraft 2 and silent hunter 5 now!
