Who has bought it and if so, how do you rate it?

I'm sad to say I was very disappointed. I loved Fable 2 and was looking forward to more of the same but better....what I got was less of the same and worse.

They've reworked the control scheme so that instead of actually having control over your character, or over combat, you have little to know control outside the traditional button-mash.

For example: Spells and Potions are no longer something you can use on the fly. You can equip spell Gauntlets that enable to you wield one or two spells. Those are used more like projectiles than spells. Potions are available but they only pop up when the computer thinks you need them during combat. So you might have no options for 2/3 of a fight, and then all of a sudden the D-Pad icon will appear letting you select a spell....but only for a split second. It's ridiculous.

You don't level up anymore....you earn guild seals for each fight/quest you complete. With those Guild Seals you walk down the "Road to Rule" which is basically a frustrating place that takes ages to load. It's a road that you walk down and as you walk you can use chests containing things you can buy with your guild seals. So you might have 50 guild seals and Level 2 Magic might be 40 seals worth, and then Pie Maker Level 2 and Lute Player level 2 might be 5 points each, so that's how you level up your skills. It's so poorly implemented!

It really felt like I was looking at loading screens more often than playing the actual game. The main story took me less than 10 hours to complete, and wasn't a compelling story at all.

All that said, it was a BEAUTIFUL game. The textures and models are amazing, as is the voice cast.

Worth renting for a few nights but definitely not worth buying. I had mine for a week, and traded it on Force Unleashed 2 yesterday. Luckily I still got $100 back so FU2 cost $30 :)

And I have to say FU2 is EPIC!

interesting you say that because Fable 3 has some good reviews , while FU2 has some really awful reviews from everyone in fact its what put me off from buying it

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Yeah I've seen those reviews too, and while FU2 doesn't have the killer story that 1 did, it's definitely refined the gameplay/control scheme.  There's a good mix of 3rd person shooter and platformer, and some of the gameplay is indistinguishable from cutscene...in fact i still think i'm playing the game sometimes when a cutscene starts up.  Very cool.  The force powers are incredibly powerful, and the range of freedom in using lightsaber + force powers is really great for making battle unique each time.

I've only played about 4 hours of it so far but I don't know what all the negative fuss is about!

I thought fable 3 was awesome until I got to a point that felt like it was going to the spire in 2 but that turned out to be pretty much the end all the rest was liner follow the trail stuff.

I though that the decisions would be harder then good or evil.

I'm probably going to play through again just to get the evil achievements but then it will probably just sit on the shelf until some dlc come out

It would have been perfect if the game lasted longer. Other then that, no complains here

Some of the stuff they have added is pretty neat. But the story is way too short, and ridiculously easy. I agree with the previous poster who said that the game pretty much ends where you were about to go into the spire in Fable 2.

In saying that, it's worth playing, if not for the action and story line, then for the satirical humour and world exploration.

I liked it but not as much as I enjoyed 1 and 2 when they were released. I didn't use any of the Live features. IMO Fable removed too much of the stuff I enjoy generally in an RPG like managing inventory and improving equipment. It's kind of there but dumbed down to the point where it feels less like an RPG and more like something else. I would have been quite happy skipping this one really but still worth the price I think.

fable one to two, no guild, no sneak, no HP bar, NO final boss T_T" meh i could deal with it. Fable 2-3 NO skill, NO real leveling, Not enough stuff for a $100 price point. "I am dissapoint" Probably the only thing I loved was the old fable 1 music around and about. There was this whole thing about being in charge of the fate of two lands but.. there was 1 thing to do with auroras fate.. it was spending 400k on making its buildings twice as big only to then have nearly everyone die and not come back after the bad guy attacks... >:( nuff said
