Sony has confirmed to retailers via its official Indian distributor that Gran Turismo 5 is confirmed for a November 24 release, and since India is part of the SCEE territory, chances are that this is also the date for Europe and the Middle East.

Wow, pretty soon...apparently, might pre order this instead of Black Ops, might re pre order after cancelling, but really not sure, if it's delayed again will just switch it for Black Ops

Possibly the most shuffled release date in PC history, I'm sure Duke Nukem Forever wasn't quite this bad!!!!

Also this:

Over the past few days we have been confused over conflicting release dates, some say November 30th, others say November 27th, while others say the 24th – so who is right?

The most convincing date for me is the one that we reported the other day, as this was seen on the Sony Style website. The dates were November 27th and 30th for the U.S. and Europe respectively. However, we have yet to get official confirmation of this.

I've been spending too much on my new motorcycle, which my wife doesn't want me riding....so I think a new Playstation game might just make her happy, as long as it keeps me on the couch

So I was in the local Westfield this morning and thought I would pop in to EB to see if they had any communication sent through today about the release date (UK and US dates were released yesterday).  Fella behind the counter, with a big smile on his face, told me it is due for release on December 25th!!

Now, I know you don't need to be the brightest bulb in the box to work at EB (No disrespect meant) but surely that can't be true.  They're not even open on Christmas day.

He said he had an email sent through this morning from HQ confirming the 25th December date.  They have it plastered all over the posters in the windows of the store

This sounds like an EPIC FAIL but please correct me if I am wrong

US and UK release date is 24th Nov by the way.  I said to him "Are you sure you don't mean 25th Nov" which would sound more realistic as it is a Thursday and is in line with the other dates.

He is convinced, poor fella

Here is the official press released received 15 minutes ago:

Gran Turismo 5 Release Date Confirmed

The most highly anticipated racing game will be in your hands by Christmas

Auckland, 13th November 2010: Sony Computer Entertainment today confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will go on sale across Europe from Wednesday 24th November.

“Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Programme!” commented Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc. “When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre.

With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with GT5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologise to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed.”

In Gran Turismo 5, you can tackle the world’s most famous racetracks, rendered in high definition that is as vivid as the real thing, and get behind the wheels of some of the most legendary cars in motor racing from past to cutting-edge present. Today, the impressive complete list of over 1,000 in-game cars was unveiled, including the Lamborghini  Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, the Lexus LFA and the McLaren MP4-12C. The full track list was also revealed, which will see players going head to head to on famous legacy tracks such as Autumn Ring, Deep Forest Raceway and the Grand Valley Speedway plus renowned real-life circuits such as Nurburgring and the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

It's probably the same. That's all I've got. But will check with the PR.
