Hi

Just wondering: if I buy used PS2 and/or XBOX games from the States that have NTSC and U/C on the cover (rather than PAL); will they play on NZ PS2/XBOX consoles or does this have something to do with the TV?

should do. check play-asia.com. they're usually cheaper than most other places and they let you know if the discs are region specific or not.

1) You'll need a NTSC compat Xbox/PS2 - or mod chipped.
2) Most TVs in the past 10 years will handle NTSC quite happily.

Sorry but when it comes to XBox no you dont need to mod or chip it, there are some games that will not work BUT alot do as the previous poster said check Play Asia, I have bought many for my standard XBox there that work fine at home.

if hou had to chip an Xbox 360 I think you were ripped off, XBox 360 will run NTSC in this country unless a game has been specificly coded not to (some are aparently), bought my son Halo Reach from Singapore which was NTSC and he plays it on my old XBOX (2 Years Old) with no problem, I think I have over 20 NTSC games in my library now including GOW2 and all work no problem.
