hey guys, what is a good line up of games that can be lanned offline?
im planning to run my steam account offline mode, and backup games and put on other computers for a lan.
this isnt illegal as i will not disclose my password to others, therefore they can only play the games on the day on the lan and no longer, unless purchased on their OWN steam account.

im after good lan games, preferably first person shooters and racing games.

so far i have though

-battlefield
-counter strike
-team fortress 2
-unreal tournament 3
-fear
-left for dead 1 and 2
-day of defeat
-half life 2
-tom clancys vegas 2

any other games please let me know, thanks very much !
you guys rock

Is this not illegal? I only ask, as some games you can play completely in offline mode, you just do not get the related achievments. I am unsure about the games you mention, and Steam, but you are still making available unauthorised copies of games.

ok, well thats why the gaming industry sucks so much nowadays.
what happened to the good old lanning days?
ill just make sure people have their own copies of the games then, so its up to them if they purchase or not. and not my face on the chopping board

Are you looking for steam only games?

My two favourite games to LAN are CoD4 and Savage 2.

Savage 2 is a free download, made by the people that make HoN. It's basically like warcraft 3, except only two people from each team are the "Commander" which is the eagle eye view. The rest of the players play first person against each other. Very fun, but you need about a minimum of 10 people for it to be fun.

I enjoy the new Need for Speed Hot Pursuit online with friends - having 4 cops vs 4 racers is a ball with mates.

Create friends only match and invite all friends. I assume everyone is linked up via routers? (never done a true LAN match)
Can be done with 360 so would assume PC would be easier (usually is...)

Seems LAN is out all together
http://hotpursuit.needforspeed.com/game-info/faq#multiplayerlan

Is not an option on console, we just had 4 of us at my place hooked via one router and invited all parties to play. However, router still had an active net connection.

A shame cause it would be a great LAN game

Typical I think the last NFS to fully support LAN gaming was NFS HP2 I really don't know why they don't support LAN gaming as an multiplayer alternative as not everyone wants or needs to be net connected all the time

here are some good games for lan i find, Crysis Wars what can be downloaded for free and played on lan for free. you only have to pay if you want to play through the internet. Freelancer, Sins of a solar empire, Supreme Commander 2, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. i think they are all lanable but they are the only games i can think of atm what people haven't said.
