So going away on holiday for a week and we will be without internet but we will have 2 fair decent laptops with us so looking for some good lan games which suit just two players??

I lol'd.

Yeah very few new games have lan and even ones that do require online auth/signin first.  However with 2 laptops you're probably looking at older games anyway.

Co-Optimus has a great list of co-op games with columns for whether they work offline and have lan.

Personally I'd take a T-Stick or Vodem for online sign in as this opens up great games that have lan but just require online sign in like Left 4 Dead etc.

Anyway if the laptops are not the greatest gaming beasts you can kick it old school Diablo II, Starcraft I, Age of Empires / Mythology, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament etc.
