Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced the arrival of Online Storage for game saves on your PlayStation 3 (PS3). Responding to the interest from the PlayStation 3 community, Online Storage will be available via PlayStation Network from 10th March 2011, exclusively to PlayStation Plus members. With 150MB of space available,

Online Storage for games saves allows PlayStation Plus members to store game save backup data (max 1000 game saves) online.

Users can access their Online Storage via XMB (XrossMediaBar), under the Games icon, where they can save game data or download and pick up and play from where they left off.

Games saved in Online Storage can also be accessed by logging into their PlayStation Network account from any PS3.  Therefore, it will be possible to download a game save to a friend’s PS3 and continue playing, whilst also benefiting from not running the risk of losing game data if they choose to upgrade their console.

PlayStation Plus members can also save their ‘copy protected’ game data to the Online Storage, however there will be a 24 hour period after saving before they can access the data on a different PS3.
Online Storage is the latest addition to the exclusive features available to PlayStation Plus members.

Just used it. There's a limit on one save file download per 24 hours, no limit on files to upload, though once done upload can't download for 24 hours. Red Alert 3 has about 10 save files on mine, so take 10 days to recover that one. Guessing if needed to recover all my games should have it done in under half a year, lol. That's on the same ps3 as uploaded from, so press release of just different ps3 is wrong and also only one file download per 24 hours.

I'll update tomorrow as when go to download noticed each file had different available download time on it. They were all uploaded today, maybe the limit is to the individal file, and not the whole lot as one group. I'll check out downloading after 24 hours and see if can download more then one.

Tested three game saves, all downloaded fine. Limit is for each file seperately.
